Special Delhi-Brisbane Air India flight this week as India updates travel rules

Air India will operate a flight from Delhi to Brisbane on 27 February 2021.

The Indian national carrier announced on Twitter details of the flight which is in addition to the regular weekly flight running under the Vande Bharat Mission.

“Limited seats being offered due to quarantine restrictions by Australian Authorities,” Air India tweeted.
Bookings for this flight opened on 22 February 2021 at 1500 hrs IST through the Air India Website, Booking Offices & Call Centre.

New SOP for International travellers

India has also updated the standard operating procedure for International Passengers arriving in India.
“To reduce the risk of importation of mutant strains of SARS-CoV-2, SOPs for International Passengers arriving in India have been updated. Make sure you take all the necessary precautions and follow all the guidelines while travelling,” the Indian consulate in Sydney has said in a tweeted.

Air India is operating one weekly flight between Delhi and Sydney in February and March.

Indian Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri says 5.9 million people had travelled from different parts of the world to India since May last year when the Vande Bharat Mission was launched.
“No distressed Indian left behind. Nearly 5.9 million citizens facilitated through Vande Bharat Mission since 6 May 2020. 26 air bubbles in place. We are reaching out to our citizens across the world,” tweeted Mr Puri.
