Sushma Swaraj helps, Indian woman gets visa in hours

An Indian woman could visit her ailing husband in UAE after India’s Minister of External Affairs helped her getting the visa in a few hours.

An Indian national, Garima tweeted @SushmaSwaraj last week on Thursday night, "Dear @SushmaSwaraj mam, my husband is in critical condition in Dubai, brain stroke. I applied for an urgent visa under medical emergency. Though I hope the visa should come any moment, mam, please help. Mam, tomorrow UAE embassy is closed for Friday. Please help."

Her tweet was retweeted over three thousand times. The minister replied to her tweet on Saturday morning assuring the help.

Ms. Swaraj tweeted, “I am sorry to know this. Rest assured we will definitely help you.”
Indian officials in Dubai tweeted back revealing that the UAE authorities had been contacted.
Garima tweeted at 2.32 pm the same day that her visa had come. “Unbelievable! Visa has come! Million thanks to @SushmaSwaraj Ji, @cgidubai, @UAEembassyIndia, head of UAE consular office, @MEAIndia, director gulf MEA. Hats off! God bless u. Preparing to leave, hoping to board anytime after midnight. Thx @narendramodi govt,” her tweet read.
