Taj Mahal second best UNESCO world heritage site: Survey

The Taj Mahal is the second best UNESCO world heritage site in the world, according to a survey conducted by the online travel portal TripAdvisor.

Travelers around the world have rated Combodia’s Angkor Wat as the best UNESCO world heritage in the world.

TripAdvisor has listed best UNESCO Cultural and Neutral heritage sites on the basis of travelers’ votes. The portal said in a statement, “The importance of preserving our cultural and natural heritage is crucial, and groups like the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization are key in this endeavour.”

After Angkor Wat and Taj Mahal comes great wall of china which was built in 1368 AD.

The portal says about the Taj Mahal that one should be prepared to vow when see this monument for the first time.
“Over 8 million people per year visit this great mausoleum, a true monument to love, constructed by the Shah Jahan while mourning the death of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.”
