This Australian cricketer is now an Overseas Citizen of India

He announced on Twitter he has become an Overseas Citizen of India.

Australian pacer Shaun Tait is now an Overseas Citizen of India.

He made this announcement on Twitter by posting an image of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card.
Shaun Tait is married to Indian model Mashoom Singha. He met Mashoom at an after party in 2010 during his time with the former IPL side Rajasthan Royals, The New Indian Express reports.

The couple got married in a traditional Indian ceremony in June 2014.

The announcement received hilarious response from Twitterati. Some suggested he get an aadhar card and some said it was time to change his name.
Tait holds the record of having bowled the second fastest delivery in cricket history at 161.1 km/hr against England at Lords in 2010.

34-year-old Tait has retired from One Day International cricket but continues to play for Australia in the T20s.

An Overseas Citizen of India card allows Tait to enjoy all the benefits of being an Indian citizen except for the right to vote and hold public office.
