India maintained their unbeaten record against Pakistan at the World Cup with an 89-run win under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method on Sunday.

Sharma’s 140 was the centrepiece of a total of 336-5 that also featured captain Virat Kohli’s 77.

Pakistan was 166 for six, chasing an initial target of 337 when rain stopped play after 35 overs.

The umpires later decided to resume the play with Pakistan needing a whopping 136 runs in five over to win to reach a revised score of 302 in 40 overs according to the DLS method.

Pakistan’s dismal fielding

Was Virat Kohli not out?

Indian captain Virat Kohli was on 77 when he walked away after what he thought was a thin nick through to Pakistan wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Pakistan appealed but umpire Marais Erasmus was not convinced.

Kohli, however, did not wait for a decision but walked off the field.

Replays suggested the star batsman had erred with no spike indicating a nick detected.
