Veteran Bollywood star Kumkum bids goodbye to the world

Famous veteran Hindi film star Kumkum best known for her role in Naya Daur and Mother India has died at the age of 86 in Mumbai, India.

Kumkum was a veteran Hindi Film actor who acted in films for more than four decades.

Her real name was Zaibunissa and she made her debut in Hindi films in 1954.

She passed away on Tuesday at the age of 86 due to age-related illness, leaving behind her the memories of some of the most nostalgic old Hindi songs.

Kumkum had acted in more than 100 films and was best known for her role in Mother India, Naya Daur, CID, and Pyasa to name a few.

Some truly popular songs which featured her include Yeh Hai Bombay Meri Jaan from the film CID and another gem, Kabhie Aar Kabhie Paar from the film Aar Paar.

Kumkum also featured in another superhit Madhuban mein Radhika Naache Re.

Comedian Johnny Walker’s son Naser Khan and veteran actor Dharmendra paid tribute to KumKum on Twitter.
