Visa Update: NSW to nominate applicants for critical occupations during 2020/21

New South Wales has published its skilled occupation list for subclass 190 and subclass 491 visas as the state starts nominating for the current financial year.

The Department of Home Affairs recently allocated places for visa nominations to states.

• NSW has started nominating for the for the subclass 190 and subclass 491 visas.
• 22 occupations are included in the list for subclass 190 while 34 occupations for subclass 491.
• The processing for Subclass 491 visa will begin in February next year.

NSW says it is currently working from reduced skilled occupation lists at the direction of Home Affairs.

“The occupations NSW is currently nominating for the subclass 190 and subclass 491 visas can be found below. These lists are subject to change without notice,” said the government in a statement published on its website.

NSW has already said that the processing for Subclass 491 visa will begin in February next year.

The largest Australian state has included 22 occupations to the list for Skilled Nominated (Permanent) visa (subclass 190).

34 occupations have been announced for Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491).
