Anu Samra arrived in Australia about 12 years ago. The change was seismic. Anu describes, “I came here after marriage. My husband was already here. The change was big for me. Different country, marriage, new people, new family; everything happened at once.”
Anu was active on stage in her college but fine-tuning her new life if Australia took it all away. And then a make-up artist friend Mona Bhasin asked her to do some modeling for her. It went very well and people started asking her to do more in the field.
“Friends were pushing me to participate in a competition but I was not that keen. And this Mrs. Punjaban Australia was announced. My friends, my husband, and even my son asked me to take part in it,” says Anu who had to enliven her talent after 12 years.

She decided to give it a shot and came back home winning the crown.
“I never thought I would win. I did not even go for it but I am very happy I won. It was a very tough competition. There were 24 participants and each better than other. So it was not easy. Now, I feel proud,” says Anu adding, "If you are committed, you can achieve anything."
