Indian-origin F3 driver Ameya Vaidyanathan escaped death in a horrific car crash during a British Formula Three race at Oulton Park in England over the weekend.

Based in London, Vaidyanathan drives for Carlin Motorsport.

The officials released a statement after the crash. The statement read, “Vaidyanathan is alert and conscious, and is being held in the Medical Centre for further observation as a precaution.” Another statement released read, “Ameya Vaidyanathan has been released from the Medical Centre.”

Ameya, after the accident said, “I felt quite a few big hits but I have no idea what direction they were in or where they came from. Once the accident finished, I was in shock but once that initial traumatic period had subsided, it was all ok.”
