His wife Manyata, twins Iqra and Shahran were present there to welcome him. Close friends including Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani was also present to receive Dutt outside jail.
Dutt was found guilty of illegal possession of AK-56 rifle and a pistol acquired from those involved in 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai. The actor had first spent 18 months in jail before being bailed out.
In 2013, a court ordered him to go back to jail in Pune.
His frequent paroles from jail have been severely criticised as an evidence of VIP treatment being meted out to a film star.
Today after his release, Sanjay Dutt will be taking a chartered flight to Mumbai from Pune. According to NDTV, the actor will first visit Siddhivinayak temple, then head to his mother’s grave in Marine Lines, Mumbai before heading to his Pali Hill residence.
