News.com.au reported that the theme park recently underwent extensive safety testing following the deaths of four tourists at nearby Dreamworld in October last year.
Queensland is currently battling a heatwave with temperatures touching above 30. This too is believed to be a cause of concern as the crew works towards rescuing all.
The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service is present at the theme park to assist management with the vertical rescue.
Paramedics are on standby but there are no reports of injuries.
This is a developing story. We will update it as more details emerge.
