The incident took place on Tuesday morning. A woman passenger was denied boarding for reporting late according to the police.

Angry Ahmedabad-bound woman passenger had a squabble with the duty manager before slapping her, the Times of India reported.

"A lady passenger was told by a counter staff that she will not be able to check in because she was late for the flight. This led to an argument and the staff directed her to the duty manager who was also a lady and there was an altercation," an Air India spokesperson said.

The duty manager also hit back, DCP (Airport) Sanjay Bhatia told times of India. He said, "Arguments started between the passenger and Air India lady staff and the passenger slapped her. Lady Staff in retaliation also slapped her.”

The passenger called the police. The spokesperson told that later both the passenger and the AI staff apologized to each other.
