The world's most powerful passport in 2019 is Japan's passport, according to the Henley Passport Index, with Japanese citizens enjoying visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 190 destinations across the world.
Singapore and South Korea jointly hold the second position on the list with access to 189 destinations around the globe while Germany and France are in the third place, with visa-free access to 188 destinations.
Australian passport has dropped to the tenth position on the list with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 181 countries after Turkey and Ukraine changed their visa conditions.

The least powerful passports include Pakistan, with holders only able to travel freely to 33 destinations, Syria at 32 destinations while Afghanistan and Iraq ranked the lowest, with a visa-free/visa-on-arrival score of 30.
The Henley Passport Index is based on authoritative data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and they base their rankings on how many countries a passport entitles a traveller to enter without having to apply for a visa in advance.
