Senior officials from India and Australia recently held discussions on maintaining a safe and secure maritime environment that fosters inclusive growth and global well-being. These talks took place during the 6th India-Australia Maritime Security Dialogue, held in Canberra on 13 August, 2024. Dr Dalbir Ahlawat, a research fellow with the Japan Foundation Indo-Pacific Partnership Program at Macquarie University, highlighted that the dialogue serves as a platform to explore enhanced cooperation in maritime security across the Indian Ocean Region and to identify opportunities to further strengthen bilateral ties.
