ACTU demands 7 per cent rise for lowest-paid workers

The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) has demanded a significant increase in the minimum wage because high inflation contributes to the cost of living crisis. Treasurer Jim Chalmers supports an increase but won't put a figure on it. Others argue that lifting the minimum wage could make things even harder.
