Albanese announces royal commission into the Bondi terror attack

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced a royal commission into the Bondi terror attack. After weeks of resisting increasing calls for a federal inquiry, he confirmed on Thursday afternoon, following a cabinet meeting, that a Commonwealth royal commission would be established. The inquiry will focus on antisemitism and social cohesion and will be led by former High Court Justice Virginia Bell, 74.
