Both Labor and the Coalition have pledged funding to improve Medicare bulk billing rates. However, the Australian Medical Association warns that money alone won’t solve all the challenges GPs face and that restoring the system will take time. Some medical professionals have expressed support for the funding pledges. Sydney-based GP Dr Anju Agarwal noted that while the announcements seem promising, only time will reveal their effectiveness.
