As the Middle East conflict drags on, the US signals it could end within weeks

The United States says its conflict with Iran could end within weeks, but continued military strikes and mounting global economic concerns suggest the situation remains uncertain. The conflict began more than two weeks ago after targeted strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, drawing the entire Gulf region into escalating tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States. More than 2,000 people have been killed, and the crisis has triggered widespread economic disruption and travel chaos around the world.
