Australia raises international students cap to 295,000: Expert says Indian students stand to gain

The Albanese government has announced a National Planning Level of 295,000 international student places for 2026. This marks an increase of 25,000 places compared to 2025, though it remains 8 per cent below the post-COVID peak. The announcement aligns with recent government reforms aimed at making international student growth more sustainable.
