A Baggy Green cap worn by Sir Donald Bradman during Australia’s 1947 Test series against India has sold at auction for $460,000. While this rare piece of Australian sporting history fetched a significant sum, it falls short of the record set by Shane Warne’s Test cap, which sold for just over a million dollars in 2020 to raise funds for the Australian Red Cross following the 2019 Black Saturday bushfires. In this podcast, we chat with the MCG’s Hindi-speaking tour guide, Nigel D'Mello, who says he’s delighted as a cricket fan that it has come back to Australia.
