The Coalition wants to limit net overseas migration to the number of new homes built each year. Reversing capital gains tax changes, scrapping negative gearing reforms, a $5 billion housing infrastructure fund and indexing income tax to inflation are among other key proposals in Coalition's first budget reply. But CDU's Associate Professor Rakesh Gupta tells SBS Hindi that while some of the proposals sound powerful politically, the real economic impact will be slow, partial, and in some cases unlikely.

ब्रिक्स सदस्य देशों के विदेश मंत्रियों की बैठक नई दिल्ली में हो रही है। गुरुवार से शुरू हुई इस बैठक की अध्यक्षता भारत के विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर कर रहे हैं। अपने शुरुआती संबोधन में जयशंकर ने वैश्विक हालात के मद्देनजर इस बैठक को महत्वपूर्ण बताया।
We meet at a time of considerable flux in international relations. Ongoing conflicts, economic uncertainties and challenges in trade and technology and climate are shaping the global landscape.
There is a growing expectation, particularly from emerging markets and developing countries, that BRICS will play a constructive and stabilizing role.
In this background, our discussions today are an opportunity to reflect on global and regional developments and to consider practical ways to strengthen our cooperation.

Peace and security remain central to the global order. Recent conflicts only underline the importance of dialogue and diplomacy. There is also a deeply shared interest in strengthening cooperation against terrorism.
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भी बैठक में भाग ले रहे ब्रिक्स देशों के विदेश मंत्रियों के साथ मुलाकात की। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने अधिक समावेशी वैश्विक व्यवस्था के निर्माण के लिए साथ मिलकर काम करने की वकालत की। आज बैठक का आखिरी दिन है। इधर प्रधानमंत्री मोदी पांच देशों की यात्रा पर रवाना हो रहे हैं। आज इस यात्रा का पहला पड़ाव संयुक्त अरब अमीरात होगा। ऊर्जा सुरक्षा के लिए इस दौरे को महत्वपूर्ण बताया जा रहा है। इसके बाद प्रधानमंत्री चार यूरोपीय देशों की यात्रा पर चले जाएंगे। जहां कांग्रेस पार्टी प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के दौरे पर सवाल खड़ा करती रही है तो भाजपा राहुल गांधी के विदेश दौरों पर सवाल उठा रही है। गुरुवार को भाजपा ने बकायदा प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस कर दौरे की funding पर सवाल खड़ा किया। भाजपा प्रवक्ता संबित पात्रा इन यात्राओं के बारे में कहते हैं।
LOP के ऊपर एक बहुत गंभीर प्रश्न को छोड़ता है उनके व्यवहार, उनका आचार। जो व्यक्ति भविष्य में प्रधानमंत्री बनना चाहता है, उस व्यक्ति का आचार। कौन उनको बुला रहा है? किस उद्देश्य से वो ओमान गए? वहां वो किससे मिले? देश के विरोध में उन्होंने क्या बातें की? क्या षड्यंत्र उन्होंने रचा? ऐसा नहीं है कि भारत की सरकार छोड़ देगी। ये नया भारत है। चारों तरफ security कैमरे लगे हैं। एक एक चीज की गिनती और हिसाब हो रहा है। आज तो हमने एक छोटा सा ledger जारी किया है मगर कागजों की भरमार है और तथ्यों की भरमार है। छोड़ा नहीं जाएगा।
इन आरोपों पर पलटवार करते हुए कांग्रेस पार्टी ने इसे भाजपा की कुंठा कहा है। साथ ही कांग्रेस पार्टी ने कहा है कि असल मुद्दों से ध्यान भटकाने के लिए भाजपा अनर्गल आरोप लगा रही है।
वी डी सतीशन केरल के नए मुख्यमंत्री होंगे। सोमवार से वे राज्य की कमान संभालने जा रहे हैं। 4 मई को आए विधानसभा चुनाव परिणाम में कांग्रेस और उसके सहयोगी दलों को बड़ी बहुमत हासिल हुई थी। लेकिन विधायक दल का नेता चुनने में कांग्रेस पार्टी को काफी मशक्कत का सामना करना पड़ा। गुरुवार को आखिरकार सतीशन के पक्ष में यह घोषणा हो गई। कांग्रेस नेता दीपा दासमुंशी इस बारे में कहती हैं।

भारत ने ओमान तट पर भारतीय झंडे वाले जहाज पर हुए हमले की निंदा की है। विदेश मंत्रालय ने गुरुवार को आधिकारिक बयान में कहा कि इस तरह के हमलों को बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जा सकता। आपको बता दें कि बुधवार को जहाज पर हमला हुआ था। इसमें सवार सभी 14 सदस्यों को बचा लिया गया। बंदरगाह, नौवहन और जलमार्ग मंत्रालय में अतिरिक्त सचिव मुकेश मंगल ने इस बारे में बताया।
An Indian dhow, a mechanized sailing vessel that is actually made of wood and named Haji Ali, during its voyage from Somalia to Sharjah, UAE, reportedly encountered an attack incident in Omani waters in early hours of 13th May 2026, which led to fire on board and subsequent sinking of the vessel. All 14 crew members on boarded, on board were safely rescued by the Omani Coast Guard and have reached Dibba Port of, Dibba Port that is Oman. The crew is reported to be safe and necessary formalities with the local authorities have been completed. Government of India remains in close coordination with the authorities in the Sultanate of Oman, Indian mission officials and relevant maritime agencies.
आज की सुबह आम जनता को महंगाई का जोर का झटका लगा है। पेट्रोल, डीजल और CNG के दामों में वृद्धि कर दी गई है। सरकार ने पेट्रोल और डीजल में तीन तीन रुपये के लगभग वृद्धि की है, जबकि CNG के दामों में दो रुपये की बढ़ोतरी की गई है। इसका सीधा असर लोगों की जेब पर पड़ेगा। महंगाई के और बढ़ने की आशंका जताई जा रही है। वैसे पेट्रोल डीजल की खपत को कम करने के लिए सरकार पिछले कुछ दिनों से लोगों से आग्रह कर रही है। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने लोगों से पेट्रोल कम उपयोग करने को कहा था। कई मंत्रियों और राज्य सरकारों ने इस दिशा में कुछ कदम भी उठाए हैं। मेरा भारत, मेरा योगदान campaign के तहत दिल्ली सरकार ने कुछ बड़े फैसले किए हैं। मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता इस बारे में कहती हैं।
ईंधन बचाने के लिए pledge होगा, public transport use करने के लिए pledge होगा, unnecessary जो vehicle use है, personal private vehicle जो use है उसका काम करने के लिए pledge होगा। इस पूरे अभियान को चलाया जाएगा। उसमें carpool हो, car sharing हो, last mile connectivity हो, इस पर सरकार maximum काम करेगी। इसको बेहतरीन व्यवस्थाएं दिल्ली राज्य को देने के लिए काम करेगी।
