Exploring sitar's fusion with rock music: Inside a Melbourne band’s journey

Melbourne rock band SPAWN, in its new album Light Rite, weaves the resonant tones of the electric sitar with guitar to create a unified spiritual sound. In a conversation with SBS Hindi, guitarist Lenz Ma reflects on the essence of rock music, while classical-trained sitarist Sarita McHarg shares insights into challenges and performance techniques in a rock band. Together, they also give a musical demonstration.
