A raging fire in seven high rise buildings in Hong Kong’s Tai Po district has been burning for over 16 hours, with firefighters still struggling to contain it at the time of this report. The blaze reportedly spread due to bamboo scaffolding and construction netting. Around 700 residents have been rescued, but 44 deaths have been confirmed so far and over 250 people remain missing.
