As Australia braces for extreme heatwaves, the risks to household pets, particularly cats and dogs, are often overlooked. Itee Dewan speaks with veterinarian Dr Amitha Lala of Griffith Vet Hospital on the early warning signs of heat stress that pet owners commonly miss and practical, lifesaving steps owners can take during extreme heat.
