Indian-Origin Senator Lisa Singh is back in the senate after winning a seat in Tasmania which was considered almost unwinnable. Senator Singh is the only member in the Federal Parliament of Indian or South Asian heritage. In this very special interview Senator Lisa Singh shared her feelings about this historic win with Pallavi Jain.
Lisa Singh who was put in sixth position, at the bottom of the list, on the Labor ticket, by her own party, managed to beat the odds and win. In what is being considered an unprecedented vote, over 20,000 voters voted below the line in favour of Senator Lisa Singh.
