Indian Consul General in Melbourne Anish Rajan has announced the opening of a larger VFS Global centre in Melbourne, designed to improve access to consular services for the Indian diaspora across Victoria. The new facility, set to open soon on St Kilda Road, will function as a centre offering a wide range of services, including applications for Indian visas, passports, OCI status, Police Clearance Certificates, and other visa-related services. The move from the current Swanston Street premises in the CBD, along with extra counters, is expected to make services smoother and reduce booking wait times for the Indian-Australian community and other applicants. Victoria is home to Australia’s largest Indian-born population, with more than 250,000 people of Indian heritage.
