Man formally charged over alleged Trump assassination attempt at White House Correspondents' dinner

A 31-year-old man, Cole Tomas Allen, has been charged for allegedly attempting to assassinate US President Donald Trump during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The alleged shooter was stopped before entering the ballroom at the Washington Hilton, where journalists, officials and Trump were present. Donald and Melania Trump, Vice-President J-D Vance and other cabinet members were evacuated unscathed. Acting U-S Attorney General Todd Blanche has confirmed President Trump appeared to be Allen's target.
