Anu Singh Choudhary, celebrated journalist, author, screenwriter, and director, opens up about her short film 'Selfie, Please', recently showcased at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Featuring her cousin with Down syndrome in the lead role, the film grew out of Anu’s personal experience and was enriched by collaborations with other families on similar journeys. She reflects on navigating small budgets and tough shoots with gratitude for the gift of storytelling and industry support, while also sharing insights from her work across mediums—including OTT successes like Grahan, Aarya, and Mrs.—and how poetry continues to anchor her hope.
