Each Christmas Eve, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) temporarily shifts from monitoring military threats to tracking Santa’s journey around the world. Now in its 70th year, the tradition uses radar, satellites and fighter jets, alongside a global hotline and multilingual website. Volunteers answer calls from children and adults worldwide, while partners including Airservices Australia help follow Santa’s route across different regions.
