To help tackle domestic and family violence, NSW Police Force is working to make the ‘Empower You’ app more accessible to multicultural communities across the state. In this SBS Hindi podcast, Auburn Police Constable Rajesh Kumar shares how the mobile app has been designed as a simple, one-stop support tool for anyone facing domestic or family violence, offering help when and where it's needed most.
The ‘Empower You’ app serves as a one-stop platform for victims of domestic and family violence, helping them document ongoing abuse, access local support services, and send urgent text alerts when needed.
It is available in 11 languages, including Hindi and Punjabi.

“The 'Empower You' app is a crucial tool in our fight against domestic violence. By expanding its accessibility, we are empowering more victims to seek help and ensuring that our support services are available to everyone,” NSW Police Multi-Cultural Portfolio Sponsor, Assistant Commissioner Brett McFadden said.

Police have introduced new multilingual signage featuring a QR code to provide easy access to the ‘Empower You’ app.
These signs are being distributed to local businesses and community facilities across the state.
The app, developed as part of NSW Police’s commitment to improving outcomes for victims of domestic and family violence, was officially launched in July 2023.
According to a statement from NSW Police, the app has been downloaded by more than 24,000 users since its launch.
Anyone with information relating to domestic and family-related violence is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
