Dr Ankur Singh said a recent study revealed a surge in tongue cancer cases in Australia, particularly among non-smokers and moderate drinkers under 45. He emphasised the necessity for further research to pinpoint the cause, anticipating a rise among migrants from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh over the next 30-35 years. Dr Singh advised residents to undergo regular oral check-ups
