A parliamentary investigation has begun to investigate the federal government's choice to restrict Qatar Airways from expanding its flight services to Australia. This inquiry has been prompted by claims suggesting that Qantas influenced the government to impede Qatar Airways' growth ambitions, resulting in higher airfares and decreased tourism.
