The report, titled “Women Speaking Up: Gender Dynamics in Australia’s Whistleblowing Landscape” gathered data from 65 people who received support from Human Rights Law Centre as whistleblowers between August 2023 and June 2024. The study suggests that women who blow the whistle on misconduct are paying a steep price for their courage. Advocates are now pressing for the urgent creation of a Whistleblower Protection Authority to safeguard and support those who step forward.
