Victoria has officially cancelled the 2026 Commonwealth Games due to the soaring costs. Premier Daniel Andrews made the announcement, highlighting the projected expenses of over 7 billion dollars, far exceeding the initial estimates of 2.6 billion dollars. Sahil Makkar spoke to Gymnastic Victoria chair Molina Asthana to understand how the decision will impact Victoria's reputation as a sporting destination and the morale of Australian and international athletes.
