Two Indian-origin billionaires in Australia’s 2025 top 200 wealthiest list

The Australian Financial Review’s (AFR) 2025 Rich List is out, naming the top 200 wealthiest people in Australia. Leading the pack once again is mining magnate Gina Rinehart, with a fortune of $38.1 billion. But what about Indian-origin Australians? Delhi-born Vivek Chaand Sehgal ranks as the 19th wealthiest person on the AFR Rich List, with an estimated net worth of $8.05 billion.

He is the founder and chairman of Samvardhana Motherson International, a listed car parts manufacturer.

At 31st position on the 2025 Rich List is Vikas Rambal, a newcomer to the rankings.

He is recognised for his project to develop a multibillion-dollar fertilizer plant on the Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia’s far north-west. His net worth is estimated at $4.98 billion.

Others featured at the top five of the list include real estate developer and Meriton founder Harry Triguboff, packaging and recycling magnate Anthony Pratt and his family, tech entrepreneur Scott Farquhar, and mining and resources businessman Clive Palmer.

The AFR (Australian Financial Review) Rich List is an annual ranking that features Australia’s wealthiest individuals and families based on their total net worth.
