Two Indian-origin mothers were swept off the rocks at Kurnell in Sydney during a family picnic on the King's birthday, resulting in their deaths. A third person survived and is being treated in the hospital. The Indian Malayalee Muslim community is arranging the funeral of the deceased and has requested expedited visas for the grieving family. The incident has prompted renewed calls for water safety awareness and education programs for high-risk populations.
