'Two-track pandemic': Three out of six global regions show decline in new COVID cases, deaths

Incentives will be offered to get vaccinated when Australia's vaccine program opens up further

Director-General of the World Health Organisation, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, says the number of new COVID-19 cases reported to them has declined for six weeks in a row and deaths for five weeks.


Dr Ghebreyesus, however, warned of a ''two-track pandemic.''

WHO said it a mixed picture around the world as the number of deaths reported last week increased in three out of WHO's six regions, Africa, the Americas, and the western Pacific.
