Soaring fuel prices in Australia are now hitting everyday Uber rides, adding a new layer of cost for passengers and pressure for drivers. Uber has introduced a temporary fuel surcharge on trips taken in petrol and hybrid vehicles, adding an extra 5 cents per kilometre to fares. But the big question remains- can this increase truly ease the financial strain for drivers already battling high running costs? To find out what this means on the ground, a Sydney Uber driver shared his experience with SBS Hindi, giving a reality check on whether this move is meaningful relief or just a small patch on a much larger problem.
