The UK’s new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, has vowed to restore stability to British politics, describing his new government as a “circuit breaker" for Britain. Speaking outside Downing Street, the former Manchester mayor, who returned to Parliament just a month ago, promised a fresh economic direction while acknowledging that meaningful change would take time to deliver.
