SBS Elder-in-residence and proud Widjabul Wiabal Bundjalung woman Auntie Rhoda Roberts has passed away at 66. A writer, director and cultural trailblazer, she broke new ground across Australia’s arts landscape. From shaping the “Welcome to Country” tradition to contributing to the Sydney Olympics, her legacy strengthened the connection between First Nations cultures and multicultural Australia, leaving a lasting impact.
