Victorian government has decided to ban the use of gas in new homes and all new houses will only be connected to electricity from 1 January 2024. While RMIT professor and CSIRO scientist Dr Raju Adhikari views this as an effort to help the state achieve its clean energy targets, he also believes that government's financial support is necessary to implement this policy on ground level.
