Victoria passes tough new anti-vilification and social cohesion laws

Victoria has introduced new laws aimed at tackling hate speech more effectively. The state parliament has passed the “Anti-vilification and Social Cohesion” bill, which imposes tougher penalties for serious vilification — including inciting hatred or issuing physical threats.
