Iran has accused the United States of planning a ground offensive, even as officials continue to pursue talks to end the war. Meanwhile, Pakistan says it is ready to act as a mediator to help secure a swift and lasting resolution to the conflict, now entering its fifth week. Last week, the United States said it had put forward a 15-point ceasefire proposal to Iran, including provisions to reopen key shipping routes and curb Tehran’s nuclear programme. However, Iran rejected the proposal and submitted its own set of terms.
