When the Don of Cricket observed silence for the Mahatma

This year at the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Indian newspaper Hindustan Times had carried a column written by Mahatma Gandhi's grandson Gopalkrishna Gandhi in his tribute. Besides other anecdotes the column also made a mention of the Australian cricket team. To know more about this we spoke to Senior Sports Journalist and author Chandresh Narayanan.


Gopalkrishna Gandhi has recently penned an article  for the Indian News paper Hindustan Times where he mentioned the reaction of not just the Indian Cricket team but also the Australian cricket team when they got the News about Mahatma Gandhi's assassination. 

On that fateful day of 30th January 1948, the Indian cricket team was in Melbourne to play their fifth test against Australia at the MCG.
