Why locals think Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide deserve a spot among the world’s most liveable cities

The Economist Intelligence Unit’s 2025 Global Liveability Index has ranked cities around the world based on key factors such as health care, education, and infrastructure. Melbourne held steady at fourth place for the second consecutive year, achieving perfect scores in health care and education. Sydney moved up to sixth, while Adelaide made its debut in the top 10, coming in at ninth. To understand what these rankings mean on the ground, SBS Hindi spoke to residents about their experiences and views on life in their cities.
