Pratibha Ray is one of India's well known contemporary authors from the eastern state of Odisha. Her acclaimed novel Yajnaseni retells the Mahabharata through the eyes of Draupadi, offering a fresh perspective on the Indian epic. In this podcast, she discusses themes of gender, power and social inequality and explains how she uses storytelling to question systems of marginalisation and oppression.
