Can Hmong community in Far-North Queensland still access SPK housing?

SPK Housing president Mai Cee Vue Chang says that even now SPK Housing has been legally registered in line with to the federal Australian government public housing regulations, thanks to its previous board and current board that work tirelessly. However, SPK Housing still needs to prove that those who want to access social housing has to meet the criteria like very high needs like homeless, new migrant communities or big family members are those likely to be able to access public housing.

Though those who want to stay public housing must apply and register on a waiting list with SPK Housing.

She said that what she worries is that there could be some Hmong community member are not understand the new procedures that they need to follow through and anxious that they will no longer able to have a place to stay.

Mai Cee says that SPK Housing has been providing public housing services for Hmong and other communities for the last 27 years and still want to keep it running for its member into the future.
