After years of experience why do we still seem underprepared to deal with natural disasters?

Natural disasters are increasingly common in Australia and Indonesia. This week flooding dramatically affected the lives of thousands of Victorians. And Indonesia is extremely prone to natural disasters.


Mujiburrahman, is a doctoral scholar in Humanitarian, Emergency and Disaster Management Studies at Charles Darwin University.  He previously worked for Save the Children in managing the impact of disasters on children.  In his interview with Sri Dean, Mujiburrahman suggests a strategy to improve disaster management and save lives and property.
