Australian PM says Russia must pay for its actions

Russia has attacked Ukraine and Australia is taking a stand in solidarity with Ukraine.


Prime Minister Scott Morrison acknowledged that the sanctions imposed on Russia would have little effect. But he said Moscow had to pay for his actions and suggested more sanctions would be imposed.

Australia has pledged to increase humanitarian visa support for those wishing to leave Ukraine.

And assures those already in Australia will not be expelled, and will be granted an automatic six-month extension.
