A new report from the Energy Market Operator [AEMO] shows that Australia is underperforming in the field of environmentally friendly energy.

The report suggests that by 2050, solar and wind power generation in the country will need to be increased six-fold to achieve decarbonisation goals.

Gas also needs to be upgraded in order to serve as a backup energy source, even if it is not being used.

By 2023, renewable energy supplies nearly 40 percent of the electricity in the national electricity market. That number is expected to rise to 82 percent by 2030.
This means that more and more homes need to install solar panels on their roofs.
